Our STORY: Heartbreak to Hope

Music In Hospices stemmed from a deeply personal moment between our founder, Joe Cavalli-Price, and his mother in December 2019 who was admitted for end-of-life care in Ty Olwen Hospice, Swansea.

On a solitary walk through Hospice corridors, Joe discovered an old, honky tonk piano covered in blankets and books.

Wheeling the piano to his mother’s bedside, he opened the lid, sat and began to play: the tune of ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ providing a transformative moment of tranquility and connection.
