We harness the therapeutic power of music to re-write the narrative of end-of-life care.

CREATING MOMENTS OF CONNECTION

It all began with the tune of ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’ played on a hospice piano by our founder, to his mother in the final days of her life.

Now we create moments of connection for hundreds of patients and their families in Hospices across the UK.

OUR APPROACH

Designing creative arts projects with the community at their heart

Understanding the power and possibility of the creative arts.

The Music in Hospices approach doesn’t take a fixed form or pursue a single set of outcomes. Instead, it’s a way of understanding the power and possibilities of the creative arts to support and empower the specific needs of the palliative care community.

Every client, family and community is unique and our projects are too. Whether its 1-1 music sessions for in-patient units, group song-writing or soundtrack of your life projects, reimagining a hospice space with artwork, movement based projects or even photography, these collaborations are led by our clients with support from our team of creatives.

Immersive sessions that engage the whole hospice community.

We offer a range of creative art approaches including live music, songwriting, dance, art and photography.

Our session lengths are flexible, are catered to the needs of our clients and can be facilitated over a period of weeks or months.

A world class team of creative practitioners trained for palliative care.

Our creative practitioners are at the forefront of their industries.

From award-winning National Portrait Gallery photographers, BAFTA-nominated videographers to Classic FM 30 under 30 musicians and West End stars, we handpick our team to ensure the palliative care community experience the best of the creative arts.

Led by the creative arts, rooted in science.

Our creative arts programmes are researched and evaluated to monitor the impact of our work.

With research partnerships including the Royal Academy of Music, Kingston University and the University of Bath our work has been published in the British Medical Journal.
